Epson’s augmented reality smart glasses

MOVERIO. Explore how the Epson MOVERIO family of smart eyewear is transforming today’s activities with tomorrow’s vision.

The Epson Moverio BT-300 is the third iteration of the company’s smart eyeglass lineup. It comes with a new lightweight form factor – 20% lighter than the BT-200 range – that has a ‘Google’ feel and is equipped with an OLED display, which projects an image in front of the eyes that feels around 80 inches in size.

Battery life on the eyewear is a cool six hours which is plenty of time, given that you won’t want to wear the Moverios all of the time.

Users will be able to view video footage created by a drone’s on-board camera and read flight data on the OLED screens of the smart glasses while simultaneously being able to actually see the drone through the glasses. The app will be compatible with DJI’s Phantom, Inspire and Matrice models, as well as the handheld Osmo camera stabilizing device.

The Moverio’s built-in camera, gyroscope, GPS and other sensors allow software to understand your movements and surroundings to drive helpful and innovative user experiences like never before.

Augmented Reality

AR enhances our perception of reality by augmenting the physical, real world with computer-generated sensory input such as video, graphics, sound or GPS data.

From displaying directions and helpful tips right in front of a user’s eyes when exploring a new city, to translating signs written in a foreign language, or for innovative gaming where the world surrounding you becomes the playground, the possibilities for AR are nearly endless.
