Biocryptology ® is an encryption-based authentication technology that represents a generational step forward in online security and a transformative approach to combating cybercrime. The technology makes identification private and secure using human biometry via a unique biocryptic process and offers a secure solution for a host of everyday applications.
Biocryptology® is based on the principle that the conventional biometric information that is captured by a biocryptic device is transformed into a set of numbers that constantly change each time the data are captured and processed. Neither images of the human fingerprint nor templates are being stored, only these sets of randomly changing numbers.
ALGORITHM
The algorithm converts the captured data as a series of encrypted numbers, in real-time, or at the very moment of its collection and not as an image or any other data form that could be recreated to obtain one’s identity.
The encryption system uses a key space large enough to ensure absolute security (> 6,000 different keys). The keys are not stored in software; they are stored in a chip in a fixed place and are hidden, therefore inaccessible by any type of reading process. Thus the use of the keys is only possible within the device, where they cannot be accessed or removed.
The table of keys used is generated randomly and a key is selected out of that table through continuously changing route sequences.
A different encrypted code is generated every time when original information is ciphered, i.e. the possibility that original information upon encryption results in the same encrypted information twice, is virtually zero.
Convenience and security are the core architectural components of Biocryptology. The product literally has countless, valuable applications and can be used anywhere authentication robustness, reliability and secure electronic data transmission are of critical importance.
Standard Biocryptology® applications:
Secure access to networks/databases, websites
Payment systems
Access controls systems
Time & attendance systems
Positive identification systems (immigration, law enforcement, military, etc.)
Airport systems (check-in, boarding processes)
Public transport systems
Distribution of social benefits
Management of electronic health records
Vehicle security systems
Nexus Smart Pay biometrics payment processing system.
Nexus SmartPay is a payment terminal alternative that chairman Klaas Zwart hopes could one day do away with credit and debit cards all together. Registered users insert their finger into a scanner on the unit, confirming their identity and authorising the transaction, rather than enter a traditional four digit PIN code.
The Primary Pass is approximately the size of a travel mouse, but in place of the scroll wheel there is a fingerprint scanner. Unlike the Nexus SmartPay, it is unique to each individual user and connects to their computer or laptop via a USB cable. It can be used to encrypt files and data on their device or in the cloud, or that they may like to send to a third party.
The Biocryptology technology is held uniquely on the device’s chip and it is on the device, which has no operating system or other software, where the encryption takes place.
