FLYBi is world’s first camera equipped drone that tracks your head movement

FLYBi is world’s first camera equipped drone that tracks your head movement, streaming its view right to your virtual reality goggles.

Sensors on the drone, combined with cutting edge obstacle avoidance technology, ensure that your FLYBi avoids physical contact with any objects.

FLYBi promises to turn anyone into a professional drone pilot with its new drone that can land without assistance, replace its own batteries.

The VR goggles essentially relay information from a gyro in the goggles to the drone which uses the info to move the on-board built in 1080p camera in concert with your head movement so you can look around as if you’re in the cockpit of the drone. Pretty awesome. They’ve also re-imagined the controller by taking the standard two joystick box and packed it all into a single joystick wrist wearable that controls left, right, back and forth with a bezel to handle the altitude.

It doesn’t stop there though, the drone also comes with what they’re calling a helideck that the drone launches from and lands on to get started and to land for swapping batteries, which happens entirely autonomously. The helideck folds up to become a backpack that carries the drone and batteries.

The Head Tracker Goggles allow you to get a view from high above the ground while keeping your feet firmly planted. With the head tracker goggles you can experience flying like a bird from the safety of the ground for a truly out of body experience. The Bird’s Eye View camera has head tracker sensors that tracks your head movements, which then transmits signals to the drone via a dedicated channel. Video is then live streamed from the drone camera to the two internal HD LCD screens inside the goggles. There’s also a front view camera, so you can switch between the drone camera and the goggles on the fly, with the head tracker gimbal that holds your camera and repeats your head movements.
