Cardiocity limited has developed ‘RhythmPad’ that screens hypertension through simple hand placement.

Lancaster (UK) based Cardiocity Limited have developed their second variant of the RhythmPad product range to successfully screen from Hypertension through simple hand placement.

The RhythmPadGP is a simple USB connected lead1 and 6 lead screening tool.

In under 30 seconds the subject’s lead1 and 6 lead ECG may be obtained and analysed giving instant outputs ranging from Sinus Rhythm to Atrial Fibrillation through to Right Bundle Branch Block.

The RhythmPadGP makes screening for cardiac arrhythmias extremely simple and can be used attached to the clinician’s PC or in reception as a while-you-wait system.

The in built algorithm provides high fidelity instant analysis of the Rhythm Strip obtained, with unrivalled sensitivity and specificity for the detection of Atrial Fibrillation and other cardiac dysrhythmias.

Using Cardiocity’s CAR7 data exchange, screenings from the RhythmPadGP may be instantly imported into the Electronic Patient Record or sent to the Cloud for storage and analysis.

The RhythmPadKiosk is designed to be located in a public health facility, providing instant analysis, within 30 seconds, such that patients may screen themselves whilst waiting to see a clinician, or simply for opportunistic screening of the public.

The results of the screenings may be displayed on screen, sent via email to a specific clinician or sent to a local printer for collection by the subject.

The Kiosk has been designed to be ergonomically effective and provide cardiac analysis for all.

The system may be linked through Cardiocity’s CAR7 data exchange system such that it can link to the Electronic Patient Record and Arrivals systems from such vendors. In such a manner the RhythmPad Kiosk can perform the initial greeting interface for the patient, welcoming them to the practice and informing the EPR system that the patient has arrived and thus can provide targeted instant cardiac screening.
