The Women’s Fund of Long Island is an organization that provides grant support to nonprofit organizations that provide direct services, education, and training for women and girls on Long Island.
The mission of Women’s Fund of Long Island (WFLI) is to ignite networks that transform the lives of women and girls on Long Island through grant-making, leadership development, education and philanthropy. The WFLI envisions a Long Island where all women and girls reach their full potential.
Eligibility & Grant Application Information
- Priority will be given to organizations or groups in which women are the primary decision makers demonstrated by leadership positions and/or governance of the organization.
- Priority will be given to smaller, grassroots organizations with limited access to other donors.
- Larger organizations may apply for start-up program grants, but may not apply for general operating support. No general operating support will be provided to agencies with budgets over $350,000.
- The WFLI encourages organizations that have not been previously funded by Women’s Fund of Long Island to apply. Organizations may receive funds for 3 consecutive years, and then must take 2 years off before applying again.
- The WFLI considers proposals from 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) tax-exempt nonprofit organizations, as well as informal groups of women or emerging grassroots organizations that have a 501(c)(3) or a 501(c)(4) fiscal agent.
Grant Awards: WFLI grants range from $1000 to $10,000 with a typical award of $5000.
