‘Surge S32’ an electric vehicle that combines both a rickshaw and a scooter

Surge S32 is a morphed Three wheel Rickshaw & Two wheeler electric vehicle. It is a unique vehicle that offers seamless travel for both e-three-wheelers and two-wheelers.

The 2 wheeler is an integral part of the 3 wheeler body. The 3 wheeler and the 2 wheeler run on their respective powertrains in their respective form/condition. Only one vehicle is functional at a time making the other vehicle’s powertrain non-functional for user and vehicle safety.

Both the vehicle modes are equipped with individual charging connectors and chargers

Here’s how it works:

Rickshaw Mode:
In rickshaw mode, the Surge S32 operates as a three-wheeled vehicle.
Users need an LMV (light motor vehicle) license to drive it in this mode.
The rickshaw body comes in different configurations, including a passenger version, a truck-style bed, an enclosed cargo box, and a flat bed.
The rickshaw has a top speed of 45 km/h (28 mph).

Scooter Mode:
The S32’s scooter can be detached from the rickshaw body.
It has its own batteries and a 6-kW motor.
Users require a two-wheeler license to drive it in scooter mode.
The scooter can travel at up to 60 km/h (37 mph) on its own.
Transformation Process:
The transformation from rickshaw to scooter (and vice versa) takes just three minutes.
A recessed docking area in the rickshaw’s front platform allows the scooter to be slotted in.
Once in place, the scooter’s rear wheel retracts, and it becomes the cockpit for the rickshaw.
An electromechanical locking mechanism prevents accidental separation while driving.
