MIT China Startup Showcase – 7-11 November 2016

Conference Exhibitor Opportunity, Presented by Wuxi municipal government & Jiangsu Provincial Gov

The MIT Industrial Liaison Program (ILP) offers a curated visit to China from 7-11 November 2016, including an MIT China Startup Showcase with speaking opportunities for MIT-connected startups that are interested in exploring the Chinese market. You will travel with a group of MIT Faculty. The local organizers will sponsor hotel costs for a small set of MIT startups (5+).

The MIT-connected startups will attend two events: (1) the 2016 MIT Wuxi Biennial Conference and (2) the 5th China Jiangsu Conference for International Technology Transfer and Commercialization (CITTC) in Nanjing, China. Wuxi is 30 minutes from Shanghai by train. Nanjing is 60 minutes from Wuxi.

Value proposition for traveling startups:
• Expand innovation networks in industry/government
• Deepen international partnerships
• Improve open innovation capacity
• Explore market entry/resource opportunities

Activities:
• One-on-one meetings with Chinese companies
• Speeches/Demos at the MIT Startup Showcase

Both Chinese governmental organizations have an impeccable track record of working with MIT and its startups, including partnerships and investments.

“I very much enjoyed the China visit organized by ILP in November 2014. I represented one of the 3 MIT startups and learned a great deal about China and also from the faculty that visited with the delegation.” Sanjay Manandhar, Founder & CEO, Aerva, Inc.

Startups are asked to submit a 1-2 paragraph pitch explaining the unique fit between the opportunity and their own vision, technologies, products, or services. Please include a statement about why you would want to explore the Chinese market and let us know what relationship, if any, you currently have with partners or clients there.
