The Dash – completely wireless stereo earphones

A revolutionary innovation, The Dash consists of a pair of discrete and completely wireless stereo earphones where each earphone is its own, tiny, proprietary computer.

Everything about the Dash is focused on delivering freedom of movement, incredible sound and comfort.

Music is a part of everyone’s life. It brings joy, excitement and motivation. However it is not always a pleasure listening to music with headphones.

Cables tangle and pull at the headphones and ultimately break. In addition, accessing online content from a smartphone is awesome but needing to carry a smartphone all the time can be a real pain.

The Dash works in sympathy with the wearer. Movements like pace, steps, cadence and distance are tracked. Heart rate, oxygen saturation and energy spent are measured all the while and real time acoustic feedback is provided.

This device has the ability to tell us how long we have exercised for or how fast we are moving, while delivering heart rate readings and oxygen saturation level. This puts it as one of the most innovative pieces of audio technology.

There is a touch control, two separate ear buds (that connect to each other wirelessly, as well as to your phone), 4GB of onboard storage, 3.5-hours battery life and a self-contained media player.

The Dash would be stuffed full of sensors like an accelerometer, heart rate monitor and an oxygen saturation sensor.

It would serve as a personal trainer through audio feedback for sport lovers. There would be a transparent mode to hear ambient sounds and more.

There is an API for developers to create their own apps that work with The Dash.

The Dash might soon “learn” what activity you are doing through sensor data, so that when you start a run (or ride), the headphones “ask” you if you started running, and you just nod to kick off the activity tracking.

The most exciting thing about the Dash is the sense that this will be a living product and has been designed to improve over time.
