China – ‘Kunlu’ mega-build construction machine that can erect 1,000 tonnes of girders to build bridge.

Kunlun a mega machine that has been put into operation on the construction of the Meizhou Bay cross-sea bridge, it can transport and installs 1,000-ton and 40-meter-long girders on the high-speed railway bridge.

Meizhou bridge, China’s first cross-sea high-speed railway bridge, connects the cities of Xiamen and Fuzhou, realizing a travel time of less than one hour between the two cities. Kunlu mega bridge-building machine is expected to construct high-speed railway overpasses faster and cheaper and save over 25% of cost and time.

The Design Institute (referred to as the Fifth Institute of Iron) and Hanjiang Heavy Industry of China Railway 11th Bureau Group not only extended the maximum length of the carrying box beam from 32 meters to 40 meters, but also increased the tonnage from 900 tons to 1000 tons, at the same time, the system solves the problems of bridge erection and power supply coordination in special working conditions. It has the characteristics of higher intelligence and wider application scenarios.
